Kate Hollingsworth

The client: With 16 years’ experience directing documentaries for the BBC and more than 10 years as a wedding photographer, Kate Hollingsworth provides a range of photography services with an eye-catching portfolio to match. She says on her website: “I have my dream job!  I love people and their stories. I get such a kick from hanging out with you on your special day or helping your business grow.”

The project: Kate Hollingsworth was looking to expand her photography services, while focussing on her core area of weddings. With a strong visual flair and a light hearted wit to many of her standout images, she was looking for guidance on how to expand without losing focus on her core market.

How Rockfine supported: Rockfine met Kate through the WMCA Creative Scale-Up Programme and through working with her in a peer group and mentoring capacity, helped her to pivot her business and up her pricing to create something that was less of a hobby and more of a standalone business. Rockfine worked closely with Kate to unlock the potential of her company to grow and attract higher spending clients.

Rockfine verdict, BD Dalton, Strategic Director: “It has been amazing to help Kate with the progress she has made from being a wedding photographer to a provider of much wider photography services, all while retaining her style. We felt she was able to offer a lot more for a wider range of clients because of her background in TV, which has unlocked potential for working with brands. Her turnover has increased on the back of expanding out from wedding photos, with recurring business based around her other specialisms.”
