Up and coming software company Bohemia Automation hit the jackpot by showcasing their products at one of the world’s biggest technology shows in Las Vegas, thanks to the support of leading management consultancy Rockfine Group.
Telford-based Bohemia Automation, who provide cutting-edge software solutions for industry, drew upon Rockfine’s strong US business links and sector knowledge to present their work at CES, the annual exhibition billed by US organiser the Consumer Technology Association as the “most influential tech event in the world”.
After the disruption of the Covid-19 lockdowns CES returned as a live event to Las Vegas, welcoming more than 40,000 attendees in person, including 1800 global media representatives, across 11 indoor and outdoor venues. The 2022 CES event, billed as a showcase for “the trends shaping the technology of tomorrow”, saw the likes of Intel, Sony, Samsung and Panasonic present.
Birmingham-based Rockfine have extensive experience in running international trade missions for UK-based businesses, with specialisms in making impactful presentations at leading trade shows. Rockfine proved a good fit to partner Bohemia Automation in taking up the invitation to join a Department for International Trade stand at CES in January.
With wide knowledge of the North American tech market, Rockfine also benefit from having several US natives on the team including Associate Dan Licari, who led on the Bohemia Automation mission and drew upon extensive contacts in the tech sector to line up local collaboration conversations.
Seattle-raised tech expert Dan understands the cultural differences businesses face when approaching international markets and has developed an impressive track record of helping companies from around the world establish their presence in Europe, and backed European companies to expand internationally.
He explains: “After being contracted to help Bohemia Automation find partners and clients in the US market, we identified CES as a strong opportunity and worked with them to articulate their message and identifying potential clients to reach.
“At Rockfine we look to get maximum value out of every international opportunity by putting great effort into the preparation, including understanding the US business scene and profiling the kinds of interested parties we may meet.
“The US tech market is a huge opportunity for a growing UK-based business like Bohemia Automation so I was pleased to work with the team to prepare their stand in Eureka Park, one of more than 20 CES halls across Las Vegas. Given the challenges around international travel, being a US citizen was beneficial in ensuring the trip ran smoothly.”
Maxim Szitnicsenkó, Chief Communications Officer (CCO) at Bohemia Automation, which is based at the E-Innovation Centre in Telford, said he would recommend partnering with Rockfine following an “excellent” experience.
He said: “As part of our business growth plan, Bohemia Automation is exploring overseas markets for increased sales or partnerships. We excitedly took up the DIT opportunity to exhibit on the UK pavilion at CES in Las Vegas and contracted Rockfine Group to represent us on the stand.
“Dan Licari worked with us before the show to thoroughly understand our technology, business plan and goals. Being American, Dan was able to easily fly into the country and be at the show.
“Calling on some local Rockfine Group contacts, Dan not only generated several promising leads at CES, he also made some potential collaboration introductions with local organisations which we are now following-up.
“Working with Rockfine was excellent value for money and gave Bohemia Automation a successful first step into the USA market. We look forward to continuing our work with Rockfine Group.”
