Scaling-Up Creative Businesses in the West Midlands
The Creative Scale Up Programme in the West Midlands was an initiative designed to support the growth and development of creative businesses in the region. The program offered a structured framework for businesses to enhance their marketing strategies, improve their financial management, and develop robust business models.
From “old fashioned” face to face cohort meetings and 1:1 mentoring to a full transition to virtual support, the Rockfine Group have worked as one of the partners on the Creative Scale Up Programme for 4 cohorts of West Midlands businesses. Our associates supported this programme at all stages of the process, recruiting a large percentage of businesses and stepping in to provide data collection and storage services when the need became apparent. Associates built cohorts purely focused on the gaming industries due to our expertise and connections.
Using our BullRing event we supported companies in getting sales ready, incorporating Mike Pagan’s Pitch Perfect Practice to allow businesses to showcase the skills learnt in the course of the programme. Our associates acted as mentors, gave workshops and hosted monthly cohort meetings focused on the skill streams of marketing and branding, value and pricing, business growth and change management, business confidence and sales, pitching and presenting. Rockfine’s extensive list of advisors also brought in more professional mentors into the programme to ensure that the mentees had access to the best in the business.
We were also instrumental in bringing innovative twists to the programme including putting together virtual international trade missions which elevated our cohort members to a wider market. Rockfine also hosted monthly Friday Mash Up networking events which brought together businesses across all four cohorts and piloted a Cross Sector Innovation event which solved manufacturing issues in collaboration with selected creative businesses from the programme.
